Community Collaboration to address Health and Human Service needs
in Geauga County

Director, Kimm Leininger, and Family First Council Executive Director,
Nancy Seelbach, presented to the Geauga County Commissioners how
they plan to collaborate to address Health and Human Services needs

Geauga County Community Impact Project Embarks on Journey
On August 10, 2004, Mr. William Conway, Chairman of the Board
for Fairmount Minerals and Sand Ridge Golf Club, hosted the first
steering committee meeting to kick-off the Geauga County Community
Impact Project (GCCIP). Mr. Conway will also be serving as the
Chairman for this project. The purpose of the project is to understand
what resources are available that will assist people to lead fulfilling
an productive lives, identify unmet needs in the health and human
services arena, and develop a plan that appropriately utilizes
the resources available to meet documented needs.

Impact Project Seeks to Collect Geauga County Data from Local
Residents
In an effort to ensure that the health and human services system
in Geauga County is meeting the needs of Geauga residents, local
leaders have initiated a strategy called the Geauga County Community
Impact Project (GCCIP). It is the goal of the GCCIP to not only
gather information about the services needed in Geauga County,
but to also develop a vision and plan for the future that will
lead to specific actions and measurable results. The project is
being led by William Conway, chairman of the board of Fairmount
Minerals, LTD. “Geauga County is changing and we must determine
the health and human service needs of our community to ensure we

Geauga Community Impact Plans Citizen’s Convention
The Geauga Community Impact (GCI) is planning a Citizen’s
Convention, which will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2005 from
8:00 am to 3:00 pm at West Geauga Middle School, located at 8611
Cedar
Road, Chesterland. Geauga County residents are encouraged to

David Abbott, executive director of The George Gund Foundation
will be the keynote speaker for the Geauga Community Impact
~ Citizen’s
Convention, which will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2005 from
8:00 am to 3:00 pm at West Geauga Middle School. Mr. Abbott’s
discussion will focus on “The importance of community
building in developing long term solutions to community needs.” More>> Citizens of Geauga County Called to Participate
Geauga Community Impact is planning a fun, educational and interactive
event for Geauga County residents. GCI will hold a Citizen’s
Convention, Saturday, May 14, 2005 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
at West Geauga Middle School, located at 8611 Cedar Road, Chesterland.
The event is open to all Geauga County residents. More>>
